Australian Research
The Eureka Prize-winning Australian Sustainable Phosphorus Futures Program investigates opportunities to overcome the risks associated with phosphorus scarcity – an emerging global challenge threatening food security in Australia and globally.
This page highlights the research, policy and communication activities of GPRI co-founder Institute for Sustainable Futures related to securing a sustainable phosphorus future for Australia. For further information, please contact Dr Dana Cordell (Dana.Cordell@uts.edu.au) or Professor Stuart White
(Stuart.White@uts.edu.au).
What we do
We provide strategic guidance for our partners and stakeholders to improve phosphorus productivity and security, whether policy-makers, farmers or wastewater service providers.
- Assessing phosphorus vulnerability and adaptive capacity of specific stakeholders, countries or regions
- Integrated and participatory modeling of phosphorus demand and supply scenarios and cost-effectiveness
- Developing integrated sustainable phosphorus strategies to improve phosphorus productivity
- Developing implementation plans for sectors (agriculture, food, sanitation)
